Russell Burnell “Tip” Tipton, age 84, of Mack Ballard Road in Maiden, passed away on
Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Tip was born July 13, 1941, in Estill County, Kentucky, to the late Warren and Alene Hamilton
Tipton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Delmas, James,
Ronnie, and Gary Tipton; along with three sisters, Ruth Moreland, Thelma Thomas, and Loretta
Crow. He was a Mason and Shriner. Tip worked in golf course maintenance.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Ann Marlow Tipton of the home; and sisters, Sue Collins and
Connie Melear, both of Kentucky.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Warlick
Funeral Home in Lincolnton, NC. His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday,
September 11, 2025, at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine, Kentucky. The family will
receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in Kentucky.
Burial will follow in the West Irvine Cemetery with Masonic military rites.
