Donnie Ray Arvin, age 84, of Crooked Creek in Irvine, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness. He was born April 10, 1941, in Estill County, and was the son of the late Elbert “Preacher” Arvin and Lyda Walton Arvin. He was a Farmer and a member of the Crooked Creek Christian Church, the County Extension Board of Directors, the OD Henderson Masonic Lodge, the Cattleman’s Association, the Kentucky Colonels, and the Fair Board. Donnie was also an Election Official and Farmer of the Year 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Bishop Arvin, and he is survived by:
2 daughters: Dana Arvin (Ronnie Fike) - Estill Co.
Donna Isfort (John) - Estill Co.
1 sister: Janet Smith (Robert) - Estill Co.
8 grandchildren: Dustin Arvin (Meagan), Miley Wilburn, McKeadon Wilburn, Taylor Combs (Jimmy), Kaylee Fugate (Dylan), Lindsey O’Hair (Taylor), Will Isfort, and Tyler Fike (Sarah)
6 great grandchildren: Kyler Arvin, McKyree Arvin, Makynslie Arvin, James Harrison Combs, Lily Kate O’Hair, and Brysen Levi Combs
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dwight Arvin and Buddy Gene Arvin.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, August 4, 7 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Blackburn officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Crooked Creek School House Restoration Fund at the Citizens Guaranty Bank
