Velma D. Blackwell, age 97, of Wallace Circle in Irvine, passed away Saturday, January 2nd, at the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.She was born November 30, 1918, in Fitchburg, KY, a daughter of the late Vernon and Mary Ellen Johnson Case.She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Austin Blackwell.She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Eula Adamson Xenia, OH Wilma Sue B. McQueen (Lester) Irvine 1 Son: Austin C. Blackwell (Fredia) Irvine 1 Sister: Lodena Tipton Dayton, OH 1 Brother: Donlie Case Irvine 9 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren 14 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a Daughter, Olema B. Horn Cantrell; 3 Sisters, Mattie Brandenburg, Callie Fielder, Leona Marcum; 7 Brothers, Roscoe, Ova, Garnie, Osa, Audra, Lloyd, and Charles Case and 1 grandchild, Sherry Evelsizor. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 1 PM at the Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Bro. Mark Pearson with burial to follow in the Cobb Hill Cemetery.Friends may call from 6-9 PM Monday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 11 AM Tuesday at the church.
