Obituary for James Herbert Crowe
James Herbert Crowe, age 85, of Reese Street in Irvine passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a sudden illness.He was born November 7, 1928 in Estill County and was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Ettie Carroll Crowe.He was a retired IBM employee and a member of the Richmond Primitive Baptist Church.He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Broaddus Crowe.He is survived by: 2 Daughters:Donna McClanahan Crow Estill Co. Angela K. Crow Lexington 1 Son:James David Crowe ; wife, Lori Alabama 2 Sisters:Dean Cole Estill Co. Fannie Brandenburg Estill Co. 6 Grandchildren:Ralph E. 'Mac' McClanahan, III, Adam R. Benton, Brett D. Benton ; wife, Dana, Cody McClanahan Alvey ; husband, Josh, Bradley A. Stepp and Bronwen O. Crowe He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Barbara Allen Benton, 1 son, Robert Lewis 'Butch' Benton, 3 sisters; Ethel Chaney, Lucy Annie Brandenburg and Dessy Mae Stone and 5 brothers; Lewis, Edward, Franklin, Martin and Carvlin Crowe. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 10, 2 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro.Todd Blevins.Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Thursday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
