Obituary for William Leon Wood
William Leon Wood, age 92, of Irvine Road in Winchester passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at his home. He was born February 27, 1924 in Estill County and was the son of the late Oliver and Sissy Stone Wood. He was a farmer, mechanic and former owner of Woods Repair Shop. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and was a member of the Ruckerville Church of Christ. He had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Rice Wood and is survived by: 3 Daughters: Janet Kiser ; husband, James Estill Co. Wilma Baker Lexington Wanda Bell Lexington 12 Grandchildren 9 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Oliver Wood, Jr., Moss Wood, Ocie B. Wood and Elsie Wood and 1 grandchild, Danny Yates. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 26, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Wednesday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
