William Eugene Higginbotham, age 80, of Park Avenue in Irvine passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the Compassionate Care Center after a long illness.He was born April 24, 1931 in Estill County and was the son of the late Hubert Miles and Edith Johnson Higginbotham.He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retiredFirst Lieutenant with the National Guard.He was a member of the American Legion.He was also a member of the Wisemantown Methodist Church.He had lived in Estill County most of his life.He is survived by: His wife:Rhoda Ann Winn Higginbotham 1 Daughter:Ann Moreland Irvine 1 Son:Gene Higginbotham ; wife, Jamie Richmond 1 Sister:Janet Prouty Alabama 4 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 1 PM at the Wisemantown Methodist Church.Burial will be at the Gumm Cemetery.Friends may call from 11 AM Wednesday until service time at the Wisemantown Methodist Church.Warren F. Toler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
