Walter “Achie” Woosley entered into eternal rest and stepped into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 9, 2026, reunited with his beloved wife, Barbara Hensley Woosley, the love of his life and partner of 67 devoted years. Their lives were a testament to faith, commitment, and enduring love, and their bond remains an inspiration to all who knew them.
Walter was a faithful Christian husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved the Lord and lived his life with quiet strength, integrity, and devotion to his family and church. Walter was a steady presence—dependable, hardworking, and deeply committed to those he loved. His greatest joy was his family, and he took pride in caring for them, guiding them, and being there through every season of life.
Walter shared a beautiful life with Barbara, marked by unwavering love, mutual respect, and a shared faith that anchored their home. Together, they built a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion that will live on through their children and generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hensley Woosley, as well as family members who went before him and whom he now rejoices with in heaven.
Walter is survived by his son, Walter Scott (Susanne) Woosley; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Woosley; his grandsons, Daniel (Sami) Woosley and Jacob (Jamie) Woosley; his great-grandchildren, Julian, Alistair, Harper, Kenley, Emrys, Remi, and Oliver; and precious sister Treva Wavolene Woosley Prather He is also survived by extended family members, including sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
Walter will be remembered for his faithful heart, his devotion to family, and the quiet love he showed through a life well lived. Though he is deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with Barbara, and home with our Lord.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 14, 1 PM at the Irvine First Baptist Church. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 to 1 PM at the Church.
Pallbearers for their Poppy will be grandsons Daniel Woosley & Jacob Woosley; Great-Grandsons Julian Woosley & Alistair Woosley, nephew Tyler Hensley and great-nephew Dale Benton. Honorary Pall bearer is great-grandson Emrys Woosley.
