Obituary for Walter Charles Baker
Walter Charles Baker, age 94 of Bond Street in Irvine passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Irvine Health and Rehab. Center after a long illness. He was born July 16, 1917 in Estill County, the son of the late George Wallace and Bertie Mathis Baker. He was retired from Sears and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a member and Deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Ruth Faulconer Baker. He is survived by: One Daughter:Rebecca WillisLouisiana Two sons:Walter Kenneth BakerFlatwoods, KY Michael Thomas Baker Virginia Two sisters: Anna ThomasRichmond, KY Margaret WhitakerEstill County One brother: James Franklin BakerCincinnati, OH He was preceded in death by one sister: Eliza Baker; five brothers: William, Christopher Thomas, Wallace, Robert, and Edward Baker. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church by Bro. Keith Sands with burial to follow in the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 p.m. Friday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
