Virginia Marlene Webb, age 82, of Winston Road in Irvine passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond following a short illness. She was born January 2, 1944, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Gardner Thomas and Stella Hambrick Thomas. She retired from Phillips Lighting and the Estill County Board of Education. She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, and she had lived in Estill County all her life. She is survived by:

2 grandchildren: Matthew (Rachel) Plowman and Ben (Makenna) Plowman
5 great grandchildren: Macey, Mallory, Oakland, Madilyn, and Stella Plowman
Above all else, her grandchildren were the light of her life. She possessed an unparalleled ability to make each of them feel as though they were her favorite. Her life was a beautiful testimony of unwavering spirit, humility, and love; as we carry forward the lessons she taught us: to love one another, trust God in all things, and live with compassion and gratitude. She leaves behind a legacy of warm hugs, an unbreakable strength, and a faith that could move mountains, for her grandchildren, that will forever be treasured in their hearts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Thelma Cowan and Carolyn Stepp, and 4 brothers, Elmer, Charles, Wayne, and Tommy Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 22, 11 AM, at the Providence Baptist Church with Bro. Brandt Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Turpin Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
