Thelda Mae Cox Brown, age 83, of Doe Creek Road in Irvine, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at her home following a short illness. She was born July 14, 1941, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Gentry Cox and Adenna Edwards Cox. She worked for the Estill County Board of Education and Union Bank and Trust. She was a member of the Thomas Baptist Church, and she had lived in Estill County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Morris Brown Sr., and she is survived by:
1 son: Fred M. Brown II (Joy) - Estill Co.
1 sister: Eudell Barnett - Estill Co.
3 grandchildren: Hannah Abney (Christian), Hunter Parks, and Hayden Brown
1 great grandchild: Austin Abney
Great Granddaughter to be: Adelyn Mae Abney
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Ben Cox.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 19, 11 AM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Edwards and Bro. Ricky Kirby officiating. Burial will be at the Alexander Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 9 PM.
