Stanley Ray Melton, age 68, of Oak Valley Road in Irvine passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.He was born February 27, 1944 in Jackson County and was the son of the late Robert and Lona Sams Melton.He was a retired employee of the American Tobacco Company and was a member of the Crystal Pentecostal Church.He had lived in Estill County most of his life.He is survived by: His wife:Nannie Kirby Melton 3 Daughters:Debbie Alcorn Estill Co. Sandy Melton Ravenna Norma Sparks Irvine 1 Son:Terry Melton ; wife, Gayla Irvine 2 Grandchildren:Thomas Ray Sparks and Johnathon Plowman 1 Step-Grandchild:Christy Kelly Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by 1 son, Raymond Dale Melton, 1 son-in-law, Thomas Wayne Alcorn, 6 sisters; Dorothy Smallwood, Mary Wardle, Mammie Shanks, Virginia Riddell, Faye Watkins and Laura Newman and 2 brothers; Bill and Bobby Melton. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 22, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jerry Rose and Bro. Johnny Wardle.Burial will be at the Johnson Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Friday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
