Obituary for Simpson E. McConkey
Simpson Elliott McConkey, age 82, of Boone Way in Richmond passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital after a long illness. He was born April 4, 1929 in Tennessee, a son of the late Alton Leonard McConkey and Adda Lee Elliott McConkey. He was a retired Contract Negotiator with the United States Air Force. He attended the Richmond First Methodist Church and was a United States Army Veteran. He is Survived by: His Wife: Bonnie McConkey of Richmond, KY One Daughter: Teresa Heimbrock and husband, Richardof Cincinnati Three Sons: Jeff McConkey and wife, Lisaof Lynchburg, VA Barry McConkeyof Kettering, OH Mark McConkey of Kettering, OH 6 Grandchildren 3 Step-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his brother, John McConkey. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 4 p.m. at the Richmond First Methodist Church by Bro. Bruce Nettelton and Sis. Mary Lou Stevens. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday until service time at the church.
