Sherry Lynn Eker Rogers, age 74 of Ravenna, KY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2026. She was born on February 8th, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Robert Eker and Dorothea Suchanek Eker. She attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. It was there that she met her prince and began her happily ever after.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, which guided her life with quiet strength and grace, and for the deep and abiding love she shared with her husband. Her love for her family was constant and generous, always placing them at the heart of everything she did, and her friendships were marked by warmth, loyalty, and a genuine care that made others feel truly seen. As a teacher, she was devoted to leaving no child behind, making every student feel special, valued, and capable, and her influence will live on in the many lives she shaped. She expressed her heart through poetry and song, sharing beauty, comfort, and joy through her creative gifts. She also cherished her dolls, a tender reflection of her nurturing spirit, and proudly supported the UK Wildcats, cheering them on for every basketball game with faithful enthusiasm. Above all, she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the lasting impact of her kindness.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dwight, her children Nicole Caudill (Joe), Matthew (Lori) Rogers, Luke Rogers, Carolyn (Mark) Bishop, John (Rachel) Borman, Blake (Katie) Hymer, Jonathan (Evon) Neal, Judy (Eugene) Bryant, her many gramkids, Noah (Kaitlyn), Isaac (Maddie), Olivia (Diego), Elijah (Hannah), Lyrica, Timothy (Elisa), Tavari, Brittany (Chipper), Hailey (Nathan), Avery (Sean), Macy, Courtney (John), Haley (Matt), John, Gabby, Tommy Lee, Zara, Zadie, Judah and great-gramkids, Cohen, Lochlan, Layla Jane, Paxtyn, Lincoln, Isla, Kinsley, and Colt.
Funeral Services will be held at Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine, KY, on January 28th at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27th, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, and on January 28th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.
