Roy Lee “R.L.” Calmes, Jr., age 66, of General Cleburne Drive in Richmond, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Compassionate Care Center following a long illness. He was born December 30, 1959, in Estill County and was the son of the late Roy Lee Calmes, Sr. and Marie Fields Calmes. He was a retired truck driver with USF Dugan and was a member of the Richmond Church of Christ. He is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Huber.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 5, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Johnson and Bro. Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
