Roy “Dink” Dixon, Jr., age 91, of McKee Road in Irvine, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born January 5, 1933, in Estill County and was the son of the late Roy Dixon and Dorothy McGee Lainhart. He was a retired foreman and special equipment operator with the Kentucky State Highway Department. He was also a farmer, logger, and construction worker. He was a United States Army veteran with the 82nd Airborne Division and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended the South Irvine Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion. Judy Dixon (Robert) Vaughn - Madison Co.
1 son: Marvin (Patricia) Dixon - Estill Co.
1 sister: Carolyn Miller - Garrard Co.
1 brother: Linville Dixon - Estill Co.
3 grandchildren: John Marvin Dixon, Kayleigh Jordan Vaughn, and Zachary Blake Vaughn
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jean Miller Dixon, and 4 brothers, Milton Dixon, Douglas J. Dixon, Harold Edward Dixon, and Jeffrey Dixon.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 7, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Watson officiating. Burial will be at the South Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
