Obituary for Ronald B. McKinney
Ronald Benjamin McKinney, 69, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY. Ron was born on Barnes Mountain March 29, 1948 in Irvine, KY to Benjamin and Lucy Mae McKinney. He is survived by a sister, Shirley McKinney Brandt of Riverside, CA, 2 brothers, Dannie and Debbie McKinney and grandson Cameron Hoke of Irvine, KY and James McKinney and wife, Joyce of Vancouver, WA. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Martillie Jayne Rich and 1 grandson, Zachary Scott McKinney Grensavitch. Survivors include his wife Linda McKinney, his mother-in-law Dolores Brown, 1 daughter Kim McKinney and Todd Mattingly, 2 sons Ronald McKinney, Jr. and wife Genia, Scott McKinney and friend Chad Wootly. Three grandchildren, Kori Rison and husband, Josh Rison, Ronni McKinney and Braeden Brooks, Savannah and husband Tyler Sparks, three great grandchildren Rylee Jayne Hoke, Braelynn Sarai Hoke and Noah Carter Rison. Ron loved his family and loved living in Kentucky. He had a dream of always coming back to Kentucky from California. He has many friends and relatives here and loved every one of them. We will have a Celebration of Life on the 15th of February at Christian Worship Center at 6 PM with a dinner following. He was a man of many talents owning several businesses in California. He also enjoyed the opportunity of farming in Kentucky. He loved the Lord and had unconditional love for everyone. His family will miss him very much, but, know he is in a much better place.
