Robert Lee Mays, age 86, of Sweet Lick Road in Irvine passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center following a long illness.He was born November 18, 1928 in Lee County and was the son of the late Ned and Rhoda Durbin Mays.He was retired from the oil fields and was a member of the Roadside Mission Church of God.He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.He had lived in Estill County most of his life.He is survived by: His wife:Jeannette Combs Mays 3 Daughters:Daisy Darlene Andrews Irvine Lois Jean Hobbs ; husband, James Ravenna Maggie McCormick ; husband, Danny Stanton 3 Sons:Robert Lee Mays, Jr. ; wife, Mary Irvine Warren Cleveland Mays ; wife, Malinda Stanton Clyde Douglas Mays ; wife, Krystal Winchester 16 Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren Several Great Great Grandchildren He was preceded by 1 daughter, Mavis White, 2 sons; Omer Lee Mays, Larry Kent Mays, 3 sisters;Minnie Morgan, Marie Hall, Mavis Duncill and 4 brothers; Jim, Jess, Leonard and Oscar Mays. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 30, 2 PM at the Roadside Mission Church of God by Bro. Henry Johnson.Burial will be at the Combs Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Saturday at the Roadside Mission Church of God.
