Robert Curtis Sewell, Sr., age 82, of Old Kentucky Highway 52 in Richmond, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Maplewood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster. He was born February 10, 1944, in Madison County, and was the son of the late L.C. and Dorothy Ford Sewell. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired fire fighter with the City of Richmond Fire Department and was a member of the Speedwell Christian Church. He is survived by:

Kathy (Roger) Rice - Richmond
1 son: Robert (Melisa) Curtis, Jr. - Berea
3 grandchildren: Sam Roach, Mallory (Eddie) McIntosh, Mackenzie (Martin) Culp
5 great grandchildren: Ally Brezeale, Riley McIntosh, Jayden McIntosh, Seren Culp, and Soren Culp
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nedra Dennis Sewell, 2 infant daughters, Amy and Amanda Sewell, and his sister, Betty Louise Reed.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Jessie Lainhart officiating. Burial will be at the Amos Richardson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 PM.
