Rita “Yvonne” Richardson Cox, age 86, of Cherry Street in Irvine, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her home following a long illness. She was born July 11, 1937, in Estill County, and was the daughter of the late Jeff Richardson and Elizabeth Neal Richardson. She retired from Strongs Veterinarian where she worked as a Vet Assistant. She attended the First Christian Church and she had lived in Estill County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Cox, and she is survived by:
2 daughters: Earline Arvin - Estill Co.
Elizabeth (Peggy) Cox - Estill Co.
1 son: Glenn (Lisa) Cox - Estill Co.
5 grandchildren: Loren (Steve Walters) Chaney, Trent Arvin, Kaitlyn (Mitchell) Weekley, Kelsie (Travis) Holliday, and Montana Johnson
5 great grandchildren: Andrew Chaney, Kyser Chaney, Ian Weekley, Sophia Weekley, and Kenslie Weekley
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 1 son, Roy Cox, and 1 sister, Earline Amerine
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The Warren F. Toler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
