Pearl Raymond “Jabe” Tipton, age 86, of Tipton Ridge in Ravenna, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home following a short illness. He was born April 16, 1938, in Estill County and was the son of the late Bernie and Mary Emma Tipton. He retired from Smyth Lumber where he worked as a Truck Driver. He had lived in Estill County for all his life. He is survived by:
1 daughter: Vonda Jones (Doug) - Laurel Co.
2 sisters: Amanda Witt (Tommy) - Estill Co.
Julie Spicer - Estill Co.
4 grandchildren: Amberlee Root (Aaron), Tiffany Helton (Josh), Kelly Barnes (Travis), and April Lynn Tipton
14 great grandchildren: Kobe, Trenton, Madelyn, Avery, Kiya, Shalana, Leeland, Skyleanne, Dakira, Matthew, Jaylynn, Aliza, Frankie, and Gavin
11 nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Peggy Sue Tipton, 2 sons, John Randall and Darrell Raymond Tipton, 1 sister, Estine Tipton, 2 brothers, Eugene and Samuel Tipton, and 1 grandchild, Joshua Profitt.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 2, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Aaron Root officiating. Burial will be at the Tipton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
