Obituary for Pamela Kay Brandenburg
On the morning of May 7, 2018, Pamela Kay Brandenburg, age 61, of Worrells Road in Irvine, fell asleep on this earth and awoke in eternal paradise. She was greeted by her husband, Jerry David Brandenburg, by her parents, Almassa Covey and Florence Gray Covey, by her two brothers, Pete and Leon Covey, and by other family and friends who had gone on before her. Together, they welcomed her through the pearly gates and took her on a tour of her new home. Then they brought her before her Maker, whom she loved above all and who showed her to her place at his table. Born on October 16, 1956, in Urbana, OH, Pamela ended up in Irvine where she met and married her beloved Jerry in 1977. While a full time mother of three, she also earned her associates degree from Sullivan College and went on to spend 29 years in administration at Lexington Fayette Urban County Government from where she recently retired. Prior to her departure for Heaven, she was a much loved member and wisdom sharer of Lancaster Church of God in Richmond. Her church family held a special place in her heart. Back on earth, Pamela left to recount her (frequent) good works and (occasional) misadventures ofher three children: Jeremy Brandenburg (Patricia), Candace Tate (Michael), and Bethany Brooke Brandenburg Mahmoud (Mohamed); five sisters: Diana Covey Frymyer, Sherry Covey, Carolyn Covey, Mickey Covey Embs, and Leatha Covey Berger; three brothers:Coleman, Al, and Gary Covey; five grandchildren (who were her pride and joy): Deondre Tate, Tionna Tate, Ciara Bishop, Adam Farag, and Sofia Farag; and a wealth of family and friends including her longtime friend and honorary sister, Beverly Reynolds, and her roommate and beloved sister-in-law, Rene Brandenburg West, all who loved her very much. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 11 AM at the Lancaster Church of God in Richmond by Pastor Butch Payne and Bro. Richard Ussery with burial to follow in the Brandenburg Family Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Friday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
