Obituary for Ora Lee Blackson-Thomas
Ora Lee Marcum Blackson-Thomas, age 84, of White Oak Road in Irvine passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital.She was born October 24, 1929 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Elizabeth Tyree Marcum.She was the former owner of Allen's Grocery and a member of the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene.She worked as a volunteer at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Twin City Players, the Estill County Garden Club and served as Queen Mother of the Red Hat Society.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Bowles, Buster Blackson and Bill Thomas.She is survived by: Her son:Tim Bowles and wife, Linda Irvine 3 Sisters:Janice Witt Carrollton, KY Wanda Crouch Estill Co. Ladonna Muncie Madison Co. 1 Brother:Marshall Ray Marcum Estill Co. 4 Grandchildren:Sarah Jones, Chad Bowles, Brian Barnes and Courtney Barnes 4 Great-Grandchildren:Alex Jones, Grace Jones, Ben Jones and Kaylee Barnes She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Meyers. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 13, 1 PM at the Ravenna Church of the Nazarene by Rev. Rob Steinbrook and Rev. Bob Mills.Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Monday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home and after 12 PM Tuesday at the Church.
