Obituary for Opal Witt
Opal Witt, age 94, of White Oak Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Irvine Health ; Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 15, 1917 in Estill County, the daughter of the late Arthur and Stella Witt. She was a graduate of Irvine High School. She was a clerk in a north Irvine grocery for a few years and retired as a caregiver for the disabled. Also as musician, she began playing the piano in her teens and played many years for different gospel singers which she enjoyed so much. She was an active member of the First Church of God in Irvine where she served as Superintendent of the Junior Department for several years. She was a Sunday School teacher for 36 years and the pianist at the Irvine First Church of God for 65 years. She is survived by: 3 Brothers: Ray Witt ; wife, Eunice Estill Co. Frank Witt ; wife, Julia Richmond Gene Witt ; wife, Cathy Richmond Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Alma Witt and 3 brothers; Chester, Estill and Kenneth Witt. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 16, 1 PM at the Irvine First Church of God by Rev. Glennis Sizemore and Rev. Todd St. John. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Tuesday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Donnie Watson, Willard Stamper, Jeff Hix, Charlie Parks, Kenny Abshear, Todd Reese
