Nettie June Baker, age 68, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at her home following a long illness. She was born November 18, 1956, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Juanita Norton Hall. She retired from Burger Barn where she worked as a cook. She loved her family with all her heart. She was the perfect family event coordinator and creator of the Sandhill Olympics. Her favorite thing to do was play with her granddaughters, Macy and Jaclyn, who adored her with all their hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Baker, and is survived by:
2 daughters: Amy (Jimmy) Denham - Rockcastle Co.
Stacie (Adam) Cowen - Madison Co.
3 brothers: Kenny Hall - Estill Co.
Eldon Hall - Estill Co.
Jeff Hall - Estill Co.
4 grandchildren: Corey (Nichole) Baker, Alex (Jacob) Cowen, Katie (Robert) Denham, and Austin Kirby
2 great grandchildren: Macy and Jaclyn Baker
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Connie Hall and Nancy McDowell.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 7, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Baker officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
