Monty Ray Gabbard, age 78, of Cow Creek Road in Ravenna, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a long illness. He was born November 18, 1947, in Estill County, and was the son of the late Tolby Gabbard and Evelyn Smith Gabbard. He retired from Kraft Foods, and he also worked as a Courier for Marcum and Wallace. Monty was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Irvine First Baptist Church, and he had lived in Estill County all his life. He is survived by:

6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Toby Ann Joiner.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, May 16, 11 AM, at the Irvine First Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Horn officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at the Church.
