Max Lewis Tipton, age 75, of Pitts Road in Ravenna, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington following a long illness. He was born June 10, 1949, in Estill County and was the son of the late James Wesley Tipton and Nell Marcum Tipton. He retired from Martina Bros., and he had lived in Estill County all his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Lucille Carmack Tipton, and he is survived by:

Barbara Tipton - Madison Co.
1 son: James Tipton (Angie) - Estill Co.
1 sister: Betty Woosley - Tennessee
1 brother: Raymond “Tom” Tipton - Washington
12 grandchildren: Ausin McKinney, Adam McKinney, Samuel Baker, Terry Sexton, Steven Sexton, Justin Adams, Andrew Adams, Sean Adams, Allison Adams, Steven Marchant, Erik Marchant, and Brianne Mullins
8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, Christopher Mullins, and several brothers and sisters.
