Our Family Chain

We little knew this morning that God would say your name. In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you, you are always by my side. Our family chain is broken. And nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

A private graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens was held 10-29-25 at 1 p.m. Surviving family includes his parents William Ray Arthur and Rhoda Turley Murphy, his grandparents Marion and Carolyn Turley. He was preceded in death by his brother John William Arthur.

Matthew enjoyed fishing, video games and playing with his dog Loki.

He was a member of College Hill Methodist Church. He was a licensed plumber and had his journeyman’s license.

Matthew was a deep thinker and loved to problem solve. He was loved by so many. Our world is shattered.

In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to College Hill Methodist Church.
