Obituary for Margaret Louise Whitaker

Margaret Louise Baker Whitaker, 94, of Irvine, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2025. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life was a living testament of her faith and her deep love for the Lord. As a long-time, faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, she found great joy in her church community and in serving her Savior. Most recently, she was a resident of Arcadian Cove Senior Living Facility, where she truly loved her friends and the community she found there. Margaret loved life and was always ready for a chocolate treat as well as a good game of Rook or Bingo. Margaret often reminded those she loved to "love everyone," living out the truth of 1 Corinthians 13:13: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Elmer Ray Whitaker; her siblings, Clarence, Eliza Bell, Bill, Tommy, Walter, Wallace, Anna and Robert; and her granddaughter, Cheryl Miller. Margaret’s memory and legacy of love will be cherished by her surviving family: her children, Thomas Ray (Sharon) Whitaker of Irvine and Terry (Joel) Miller of Midway; her brother, James (Marie) Baker of Cincinnati, OH; and her grandchildren, Amy (James) Stults of Lexington, Courtney Harrison of Richmond, Kimberly (Jason) McCowan of Harrodsburg, and Casaundra (Robert) Mink of Somerset. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren: Dalton, Evan, Xander, Daxton, Brody, Jeremiah, Emmalynn, Joseph, and Everleigh.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Irvine, Kentucky, with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 pm.
