Margaret Evelyn Rawlins, age 91, of Sweet Lick Road in Irvine, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond following a long illness. She was born July 19, 1934, in Lee County, and was the daughter of the late George Washington Samples and Daisy Laura Kincaid Samples. She retired as a Cook for Cedar Village, and she attended the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rawlins, and she is survived by:

1 son: Gary Edward Rawlins - Estill Co.
1 brother: Howard Samples - Ohio
6 grandchildren: Kristy (Mark) Carroll, Bryan (Ashley) Rawlins, Fred Rogers Jr., Jessica (Anthony) Townsend, Melissa (Shawn) Riley, and Erica (Jeremy) Stewart
12 great grandchildren: Keaton Henry, Jace Carroll, Jassmine Townsend, Zack Townsend, Bella Rogers, Jewel Rogers, Mason Riley, Maeve Riley, Miles Riley, Caden Stewart, Taylor Stewart, and Brylynn Rawlins
1 great great grandchild: Krew Henry
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Kenny Rawlins and Denny Rawlins, 5 sisters, Mattie Richardson, Jessie Lovin, Juanita Samples, Reva Richardson, and Imagene Samples, 3 brothers, Johnny Samples, Harold Samples, and Shine Samples, and 2 grandchildren, Tonia Henry and Jonathan Tyler Rawlins.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 24, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Frymyer officiating. Burial was at the Rawlins Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM.
