Linda Lou Powell, age 74, of Noland’s Creek Road in Irvine, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the Irvine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born August 5, 1949, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rebecca Johns Abner. She was a homemaker and farm worker and had lived in Estill County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Powell, and is survived by:
3 sons: Charles (Tammy) Powell, Jr. - Estill Co.
Timothy Lawrence Powell - Estill Co.
Matthew Dwayne Powell - Estill Co.
2 sisters: Diane McGuire - Estill Co.
Darlene Abner - Estill Co.
8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren
Her companion: Elisah John “Bobo” Freeman
Several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Elizabeth Osborne, and 2 brothers, Thomas Abner and Larry “Sonny” Abner.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 26, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marvin Neal officiating. Burial will be at the Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
