
Lester McQueen, age 78, of South Winn Avenue in Irvine, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond following a long illness. He was born February 27, 1946, in Jackson County and was the son of the late Hubert McQueen and China Abner McQueen Barb. He retired from Square D and he was a member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church. He had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He is survived by:

3 grandchildren: Kristy McKinney (Eugene), Tyler McQueen, and Jeff McQueen
6 great grandchildren: Jeromy Stamper (Makayla), Courtney Stamper (Tyler), LaShae Campbell (Adam), Brittney Hembree (Dalton), Wyatt McQueen, and Laython McQueen
4 great-great grandchildren: Baylee Campbell, Easton Stamper, Tatum Grace Hembree, Oakley Tyler Wiseman

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Imogene Matthews and Joyce Hale, and 2 brothers-in-law, John Matthews and Phillip Hale
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 12, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Pearson officiating. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
