Obituary for Lena Faye Winkler
Lena Faye Powell Winkler, age 71, of Main Street in Irvine passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington after a long illness.She was born February 21, 1941 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Clayburn and Lillie Rawlins Powell.She was a beautician, an antiques collecter and a retired employee of the Estill County Library.She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church.She was a member of the Sunshine Basket Ladies at First Baptist Church and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital.She had lived in Estill County all of her life.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Tracy Winkler.She is survived by: 1Daughter:Kimberly Baber ; husband, Steve Estill Co. 1 Son:Bert Christopher Winkler ; wife, Judy Estill Co. 1 Sister:Clayberta Gamble Richmond 4 Grandchildren:Joshua Clay Winkler, Devon Traci Baber, Steven Clay Baber and Jay Christopher Winkler She was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Christopher Mitchell Baber and 6 sisters; Essie Abney, Dorthy King, Tressie Woolery, Lucille Alexander, Creasy B. Powell and Wanda Turpin. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 13, 12 Noon at the First Baptist Church by Bro. Cecil Morgan.Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Friday at the First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mitch Baber Scholarship Fund.
