Obituary for Lavenda Joan Canter
Lavenda Joan Canter, age 75, of Broadway in Irvine passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home following a long illness. She was born June 24, 1942 in Kokomo, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Jesse T. and Rose Ann Bailey Jamison. She was a homemaker and member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She had lived in Estill County most of her life. She is survived by: Her husband of 61 years: Samuel Lee Canter, Jr. 2 Daughters: Vickie Canter Dunaway Richmond LaSonia Canter (Robert) Smith London 1 Son: Samuel Glenn Canter Lexington 1 Sister: Arlene Townsend North Carolina 1 Brother: Gale Jamison Ohio 2 Grandchildren: Dustin (Tiffany Richardson) Dunaway, Ashley Canter (Graham) Simpson She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, Cody Canter, 3 sisters; Loretta Ramsey, Lucille Canter, Etta Estes and 2 brothers; Walter Moore and Jiggs Rogers. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 17, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Scott Rogers. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Friday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
