Kenneth Dean Abshear, age 80, entered into eternal peace on May 4, 2026 at his home. He loved God and his family, and he was a devout member of the Irvine First Church of God for 56 years. He was the strength of his family he worked hard to provide for, both in factories and the family farm. He served his Church for many years as a Board Member, and he was recognized by his community as a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Roscoe and Bertha McQueen Abshear, brother- Arthur Abshear, sister- Donova Patrick, and beloved grandson Austin Dunn.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Noland Abshear, two daughters, Kim Dunn-Townsend (Jeff), Tiffany Scarborough (Lee), and one son Kenneth "Brother" Abshear (Becky).
Grandchildren - Kaitlyn Abshear (Shaun Blackwell), Dustin Abshear (Sarah), Kenton Abshear (Lily Halcomb), Noland Scarborough, Embry Scarborough, Holli Reynolds (Trent), Cameron Townsend, and McKayla Townsend

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 1 PM at the Irvine First Church of God with Bro. Eric Patrick officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Church.
