Johnny Ward Brooks, age 70, of New Fox Road in Irvine passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital.He was born September 17, 1941 in Estill County and was the son of the late Lee Vernon and Della Mae Means Brooks.He was a retired employee of the Bluegrass Army Depot and attended the Ivory Hill Baptist Church.He was also a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.He had lived in Estill County all of his life.He is survived by: His wife:Betty Louise Allen Brooks 3 Daughters:Penny Ann Wells ; husband, Richard Mt. Sterling Michelle Brooks Estill Co. Megan Parker ; husband, Jim Estill Co. 4 Sons:Bobby Sloane ; wife, Joetta Winchester Phillip Jones ; wife, Claudia London Johnny Brooks, Jr. ; wife, Julie Estill Co. Gene Jones ; wife, Audrey Mt. Sterling 3 Sisters:Virginia Ormes Estill Co. Lilly Mae Tubbs Paris Ella Faye Jackson Paris 2 Brothers:Donald Brooks Estill Co. Orville Brooks Estill Co. 11 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, Heather Ferguson, 2 sisters; Loretta and Eugetta Brooks and 1 brother, Billy Ray Brooks. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 17, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Marvin Neal.Burial will be at the Brooks Cemetery.Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Thursday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home.
