Joetta Tyree Palmer, age 86, of 8th Street in Ravenna, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center following a short illness. She was born September 5, 1938, in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Ernest Green Tyree and Gladys Mae Garrett Tyree. She retired from the Irvine Post Office, where she worked as a Clerk. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and the Historical Society. She had lived in Estill County all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond Palmer, and she is survived by:
1 sister: Jackie T. Wiseman - Estill Co.
2 brothers: Michael Tyree (Pearl) - Estill Co.
Glynn Tyree (Marilyn) - Estill Co.
3 nieces: Kendra Powell (John), Mary Tyree, and Darlene Linder
3 nephews: Herb Wiseman, Michael L. Tyree, and Josh McIntosh
5 great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul Tyree and Pepper Tyree (Dinah)
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 23, 2 PM, at the Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Rogers officiating. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Church.
