Joe J. Bowling, age 93, of Edgewater Drive in Irvine passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the Marcum ; Wallace Memorial Hospital after a short illness.He was born December 23, 1918 in Pike County and was the son of the late Boone and Annie Potter Bowling.He was a former coal miner and a retired employee of General Motors.He was a member of the Williams Memorial Baptist Church and had lived in Estill County for about the last 30 years.He is survived by: His wife:Lucille G. Williamson Bowling 2 Sons:George L. Bowling ; wife, Nancy Irvine Joe Bowling, Jr. ; wife, Michele London 4 Step-Children:Linda Grizzel Ohio Sally Ann Frye New Mexico Kenneth Grizzel Ohio Ronald Grizzel West Virginia 1 Sister:Florence Bartley Pike Co. 17 Grandchildren Several Great GrandchildrenSeveral Great-Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by 2 step-children; Yvonne Valentine and Freida Gail Bowling and 5 sisters; Mae Grizzel, Barbara Harris, Louise Kilgore, Ventia Kelly and Kelsie Bowling and 4 brothers; Forrest, Dale, Howard and Lawrence Bowling and 1 grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted, Friday, September 14, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Jeff Ryder and Bro. Astor Simpson.Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Thursday between 6 and 9 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Pallbearers:His grandsons
