Joe “Jody” Gaff Riddell, age 82, of Hoys Fork Road in Irvine, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born May 9, 1944, in Estill County, and was the son of the late Virgil Victor Riddell and Pauline Turner Riddell. He retired from the American Tobacco Company, and he had lived in Estill County all his life. He is survived by:

2 sisters: Ruth Ann Farthing - Irvine

1 brother: Richard Riddell - Irvine
Several grandchildren
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Amy Elizabeth Riddell, 1 sister, Betty Willis, and 3 brothers, Robert, Marion, and Cecil Riddell.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 8, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
