Janet Jones, age 94, of South Irvine Road in Irvine, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. She was born July 20, 1930, in Ashland, KY and was the daughter of the late Richard and Nellie Tipton Marcum. She retired from A.O. Smith in Mt. Sterling and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by:
1 daughter: Carol (George) Hunter - Madison Co.
1 son: Fred (Gail) Jones - Estill Co.
2 grandchildren: Bennie (Susan) Lay and Elizabeth (Chip) Templeman
5 great grandchildren: Bennie Adam Lay, Emilee Grace Lay, Addie Templeman, Gracie Templeman, and Jessica (Billy) Garrison
Special niece, Eloise (Gary) Mullins, and special nephew, Ricky (Vickie) Wyatt
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Jones, her sister, Julia Wiggins, her brother, Virgil Wyatt, and 1 grandchild, Richard Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 15, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sherl Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the Campbell Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 9 PM.
