
James Phillip Baker, age 75, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at his home. He was born April 13, 1949, in Ravenna and was the son of the late William “Peanut” Baker and Geneva Watson. He retired from Lexmark and the Bluegrass Army Depot and had lived in Estill County most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He is survived by:

1 sister: Judy Ferguson - Ohio
4 grandchildren: Corey (Nichole) Baker, Alex (Jacob) Cowen, Katie (Robert) Denham, and Austin Kirby
2 great grandchildren: Macy June Baker and Jaclyn Paige Baker
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nellie Holtzclaw.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 17, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Corey Baker officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
