Hubert Johnson, age 88, of McSwain Branch Road in Irvine, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. He was born August 25, 1937, in Estill County, and was the son of the late George Johnson and Nellie Anderson Johnson. He was a Farmer and a member of the Thomas Baptist Church. He had lived in Estill County all his life. He is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Jenkins Johnson, his companion, Margie Richardson, 5 sisters, Laura Jones, Edna Rucker, Clara Crowe, Verneda Plymon, and Edith Abney, 3 brothers, Clarence Johnson, Virgil Johnson, and Farris Johnson, 2 half-sisters, Dacey McIntosh and Elvira Turner, and 1 half-brother, Pierce Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 18, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Rose officiating. Burial will be at the Joe Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
