Howard Donny Dixon passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at his residence following a short illness. Donny was born October 27, 1945, in Irvine, Kentucky. He was a retired employee of the Kentucky Department of Highway. Donny loved being outdoors in nature and was an avid walker. At one time in his life, you could see him walking on River Drive every day for miles and miles. Sometimes with his dog by his side.
Donny was preceded by his parents, Clyde and Emma Baily Dixon of Irvine, KY. Also preceding him were his two sisters, Sue Dixon Gross, Billie Jean Dixon Cawood, 1 brother, Larry Dixon, and his niece, Stephanna Cawood.
He is survived by a nephew, J.C. Cawood of Harlan, KY, a special friend, Joy Abney, a great niece and nephew, several cousins and other special friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 28, 2 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 2 PM.
