Gregory Thomas Harrison

February 11, 1976 – June 24, 2026

Gregory Thomas Harrison, 50, passed away on June 24, 2026, on Matagorda Island, Texas.

Born on February 11, 1976, Greg lived life unapologetically on his own terms. Independent, adventurous, and true to himself, he followed his own path and embraced the freedom to live life the way he chose.

For 23 years, Greg served his community as a career firefighter. It was a profession that demanded courage, resilience, and commitment—qualities he carried throughout his life. His years of service reflected his willingness to answer the call when others needed help.

Outside of work, Greg had a passion for motorcycles, especially Harleys, and enjoyed spending time on the open road. Music was another constant in his life, providing the soundtrack for many of his adventures and quiet moments alike. He appreciated the freedom that came with both and found happiness in living life without compromise.

Greg is survived by his sons, Damian Harrison (Kennedy Rose) and Daxton Harrison; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Harrison, Blakely Harrison, and Wesley Harrison; his mother, Terri Harrison (Mike Johnson); his sister, LeighAnne Harrison; his niece, Hadleigh Lamb; and his nephews, Lucas Lamb and Brayden Lamb and his dearest friend Ryan Donithan (Denise) and Aunt Debby Jones (David). He also leaves behind many dear friends from across the country and from all walks of life, each of whom was touched by his unique spirit and friendship. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Tommy and Lucille Harrison and Uncle Bud (Tommy Harrison Jr.)

Greg will be remembered as a man who lived authentically, valued his independence, and devoted more than two decades to serving others through his work as a firefighter. Those who knew him will remember his adventurous spirit, his love of the open road, and the life he chose to live.

He will be remembered and missed by his family, his many friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held at the Estill County Fair Barn on Saturday July 25th at 3:00 pm
