Glendon “Blue” Cox, age 83, of Lincoln Avenue in Irvine, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, at his home. He was born July 22, 1942, in Jackson County, and was the son of the late Delbert Cox and Bertha Blanton Cox. He was a retired Coal Miner, and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Cox, and he is survived by:
1 daughter: Sheryl (Kevin) May - Madison Co.
2 sisters: Joann Hobbs - Estill Co,
Carolyn McIntosh - Estill Co.
2 brothers: Ralph Cox - Madison Co.
Wayne Cox - Estill Co.
7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Glenda Cox, Karen Wilson, and Janet Whitley.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 8, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the South Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
