Glen Douglas Lay, age 79, of Sandhill Road in Irvine, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born July 11, 1946, in Estill County, and was the son of the late Charlie Lay and Anna Lue Winkler Lay. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot and he was the owner of Lay Monuments in Irvine. Glen was also a United States Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He had lived in Estill County all his life. He is survived by:

7 great grandchildren: Xadyn Long, Maxwell Long, Grant Long, Hudson Muncie, Lincoln Muncie, Jansyn Wiseman, and Ryan Cowgill

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Jewell Dean Edwards, 1 brother, Doyle Lay, and 1 grandchild, Dalton Douglas Isaacs
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 11, 1 PM, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Patrick officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 PM.
