Obituary for Gertrude Jenkins Combs

Gertrude Jenkins Combs, age 83, of Reges Road in Irvine passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at her home following a sudden illness. She was born May 6, 1932 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Pebbel Rice Jenkins. She was a retired Westinghouse ; Phillips Lighting employee and a former employee of Carhartt, Inc. and the Estill County Board of Education. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Estill County Farm Bureau Ladies Committee and a Farm Bureau Director. She had lived in Estill County all of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Combs. She is survived by: Her son: Larry D. Combs ; wife, Tonda K. Estill Co. 3 Grandchildren: Patrick R. Montague ; wife, Jamie, Amanda L. Rhodus and Amber L. Southworth ; husband, Brad 6 Great Grandchildren: Taylor R. Montague, Brooklyn N. Montague, Gracie L. Rhodus, Gretchen L. Rhodus, Jalyne C.Southworth and Jaxon L. Southworth Brother-in-law: Donald Combs ; wife, Shirley Madison Co. 2 Nephews, 7 Nieces, 10 Great Nephews and 6 Great Nieces She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Rae Montague and her brother, Boyd Jenkins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 30, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel by Bro. Sherl Thomas. Burial will be at the Turpin Cemetery. Friends may call between 6 and 9 PM Tuesday at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Patrick R.
