Obituary for Geneva Lawson
Geneva Lawson, age 77, who resided in Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home with family members at her bedside. Mrs. Lawson succumbed after battling a long chronic illness. She was born in Estill County on May 24, 1936 to the late Floyd B. and Dovie Norton. She was one of their eleven children. Mrs. Lawson lived and attended her primary education in the small community of Pea Ridge in Estill County. After high school she became an ordained minister and enjoyed hearing, watching, and teaching the gospel to others. She was the mother of six children and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Lawson is survived by two sisters: Katherine Hall and Nettie Pearl Powers of Estill County. Her children: Donna Waddell, Michael Dulin, Sandra Reeves all of Lexington, Terry Holbert of Tampa, Florida, and Timothy Colyer of Goldsboro, North Carolina. Her grandchildren: Michael D. Dulin, Paul W. Abner, Chris Abner of Jessamine County, Michael W. Dulin Jr., of Dallas, Texas, Kyle Dulin of Tulsa, OK, Joshua Cobb of Lexington, Cindy Cobb of Madison County, Matthew Holbert, Amy Holbert, of Madison County, Angie Holbert of Apex, North Carolina, Andrew Kelly, Brandon Kelly of Estill County, Angela Webb of Lexington, Timothy Colyer, Jr. and Arron Colyer of Goldsboro, NC, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 son, William Allen Dulin. Mrs. Lawson was receiving excellent health care at the time of her passing by Hospice of the Bluegrass. We are so thankful for all of their care and assistance. We love you Mother and someday we will all be together again. Visitation will be at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home in Irvine, KY on Wednesday between the hours of 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1st, 2PM at the funeral home chapel by Bro. Jason Riddell with burial to follow in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
