Gene David “Moose” Rawlins, age 67, of Ida Grace Road in Irvine, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Georgetown Community Hospital following a long illness. He was born November 3, 1955, in Estill County and was the son of the late Catherine Rawlins Ashcraft. He was a retired Assistant Chief with the Irvine Fire Department, a retired Bluegrass Army Depot employee, and a former Allen Co. employee. He had lived in Estill County all his life. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Joshua David Rawlins.
He will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 25, 1 PM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Patrick officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
