Gene Abney, age 73, of Patsy Road in Stanton, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital following a short illness. He was born March 20, 1950, in Estill County and was the son of the late Earl and Nellie Rogers Abney. He was a retired Square D employee and attended the Cow Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Zelma Abney, Wandella Wasson, Wanda Tuttle and 3 brothers, Junior, Buell and Earvil Abney.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 19, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Warren Rogers and Bro. Jered Patrick officiating. Burial will be at the Cobb Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
