Gearl Don Sparks, age 80, of Highway 2004 in Mckee, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Marcum and Wallace Hospital following a long illness. He was born July 18, 1944, in Estill County and was the son of the late Taulby Sparks and Nannie Cox Sparks. He retired from the South East Coal Co., and he had lived in Estill County for most of his life. He is survived by:

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Jennie Russell, and 3 brothers, JR Sparks, Berlon Sparks, and Stevie Blanton
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 8, 11 AM at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with Bro. Fabion Lynch officiating. Burial will be at the Cox Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 9 PM.
